Volunteers of Weld County Unite!! Day of Action is a community wide volunteer opportunity that helps to get many non-profit agencies and businesses the volunteer help they need to enhance aspects of their agency or business. Projects in years past have ranged from painting curbs at local schools, yard work, weed pulling, planting herb gardens, staining wood fences,removing sod, laying rock, moving old equipment and supplies to help renovate office rooms, assembling furniture and merchandising furniture. The projects are wide ranging depending on the agencies needs. Volunteers are LOVE in motion. Come volunteer with United Way of Weld County and spread the LOVE!!

LIVE UNITED 5K COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED! Work with United Way staff to develop and plan a community fundraiser event for the fourth annual Live United 5k Run, May 2nd 2019. The meetings will be biweekly starting in June and will culminate with the event in May and members can expect to spend 1-2 hours per week.

The Young Leaders Society Steering Council serves to jumpstart and guide the emerging Young Leaders Society in Weld County.

The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is a group of high school students that reviews investment proposals from Weld County nonprofit agency Education, Financial Stability, and Health programs. The sources of these funds are the contributions from the previous year?s Youth Campaign. YLC members review written proposals, listen to a short prestation from these agencies, and make recommendations for investing to the United Way of Weld County board of directors.
Purpose of the Position
This is a challenging volunteer position that provides an opportunity to network with other concerned high school students, learn about important human service programs and the process of Community Impact, and attend various trainings related to nonprofit work.

- Learn about the functioning of nonprofit organizations and the process of social change
- Develop analytical and rhetorical skills
- Gain experience that looks good on a resume or college application
Work Location
United Way of Weld County and other locations as assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Participates in United Way volunteer orientation session
- Attends three meetings: an orientation, a Saturday meeting to review proposals and hear presentations, and an awards banquet
- Reviews provided materials to become familiar with agencies and programs
- Reviews agency proposals and scores with provided rating criteria
- Listens to agency program presentations
- Participates in funding allocation discussion
- Makes agency funding recommendations (final funding decisions made by UWWC Board of Directors)
- Provides copies of all reports
